A lot of people ask what we mean by "profile roasted ". Before a coffee is even purchased, it is sample roasted and cupped to determine the flavor characteristics in that particular coffee. Once a coffee has been purchased we need to scale it up to full production without losing any of the amazing flavors hiding in that bean!
This is where profile roasting comes in. You may notice that we don't say "light" or "dark" roast on our labels and this is by design! Each coffee is going to have its own "sweet spot" of times and tempertures (the roast curve) and we try to let each coffee tell us where that spot is based on several variables like air flow, gas pressure, and even bean density. Of course if you want to offer a French Roast, we'll be happy to find you a coffee that's just begging to be taken to the next level!
