Good Coffee, Community, Conservation
Approachable people. Approachable coffee. One slightly stubborn mule...
In 2015, a laid off and out of work pack mule started to contemplate the challenges facing humanity.
Being a herd animal, he was bothered to see people spending less time with those living around them.
Having resided outside his whole life, he found it troubling that people weren't recreating as much in the great outdoors.
Richard decided to act. He launched a trailside coffee service in the Foothills of Boise, Idaho in 2016. In these free community services, Richard and his companions brewed and served coffee for any and all who showed up. What came about as a result was powerful: increased outdoor recreation, spontaneous community vibes, great coffee, and an appreciation of beautiful scenery.
Richard's crew was stoked, and they just couldn't stop at serving coffee on the trails. A full on coffee roasting company was born with a commitment to delicious and unpretentious specialty coffees and a mission to donate to the maintenance of trails and outdoor spaces wherever Café Mulé coffees are sold.
